# Setup n8n

*n8n* is an **open-source, extendable workflow automation and integration platform**. \
It enables users to connect various applications, services, and APIs to create automated workflows without extensive programming. Unlike traditional cloud-based automation tools, n8n can be **self-hosted**, giving organizations full control over their data, security, and infrastructure.\
It follows a **“fair-code” license model**, which allows commercial use while maintaining transparency and flexibility.

### Key Features of n8n:

* **Open-Source Platform** – Free to use and fully customizable for enterprise workflows.
* **Low-Code Automation** – Enables workflow creation with minimal coding through a visual editor.
* **Supports API Integration** – Connects with 400+ applications and services using REST, SOAP, or webhooks.
* **Self-Hosted & Secure** – Can be deployed on private servers, ensuring data security and compliance.
* **Workflow Triggers & Scheduling** – Supports event-based, cron-based, and manual workflow executions.
* **Error Handling & Logging** – Offers retry mechanisms, execution logs, and workflow monitoring.
* **Scalable Architecture** – Can be extended using custom nodes, JavaScript functions, and external databases.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.neevcloud.com/neevcloud-guide/neevcloud-knowledgebase/setup-n8n.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
